 Our School

This page is about the pupils at Forches. We will show you examples of our work and will also tell you about things we have been doing, both at school and out on trips.

Year 3/4 in Mrs Willoughby's Class have been working very hard in their art lessons. They have designed and made Pharoah's Thrones.

As you can see these look wonderful, really fit for a king.

Cliff Richard Tennis School

We started by watching a video about famous tennis players. We then warmed up with music and copied what the lady was doing. We practised tricks with a ball for our catching skills. We then had a racket and tried to hit the ball. We tried lots of different ways to help us learn racket skills. We dribbled the ball in the shape of an 8 and then had to see how many times we could hit it, allowing it to bounce first. I managed four times then lost control! It was an absolutely brilliant afternoon

Environmental Club.

We had a real fun time at environmental club. We all put on old clothes and shoes or boots and went out to dig a hole. A tree had been chopped down and we are using the trunk to make a birdtable. The hole we dug is 40cm deep, and is just as you enter the environmental area.

Then we hung up some monkey nuts, sunflower seeds and fatballs for the birds. We also marked out an area where we are going to build 4 raised beds for flowers and vegetables.

I like doing art at school because its great fun and I am good at doing it. I also like doing literacy because sometimes we get to make up our own stories and I like doing that. I like it when our teacher reads us a story because I can imagine the pictures in my head.

Year 4 child

I like school because of the RE and the art and the school dinners and the cakes we make with Kenny. If I could I would bring my skateboard.

Year 3 child.

I want to stop bullying because it hurts children badly.I also want to stop people swearing at others. I want to stop teachers shouting by getting people to be good all the time.

Year 4 child.

I like school because of playtime and I would change everything.

Year 3 child.

We would like to do more exciting things and have less mud on the adventure playground. We would like to make music instead of going to to the activity room.

We all like the computer room

Class 3/4W

I like school because I want to learn everything. If I could I would change the playground.

Year 4 child.

I like school because I like doing literacy and science.

If I could I would change maths to literacy and would change RE to riding.

Year 3/4 literacy- Trolls

Year 3 and 4 have based some literacy work around "Trolls" They were then visited by a Troll. They asked him lots of questions and were quite surprised when his identity was revealed !!

What do Trolls eat ?

Trolls eat fish and other underwater animals. They sometimes eat their own bogeys and other disgusting things. Trolls also eat four legged animals. They eat human bits as well.

By Matthew.

Where do Trolls live ?

Trolls can live under bridges and they can sneak in your shed. They might live near the sea and in caves as well, because they like to be damp and mucky.

By Ashleigh

What doTrolls look like ?

All trolls are ugly and mean. They all have fat legs. Trolls always have a good appetite. It makes them fat. Some trolls smell bad and they are all disgusting at eating. Trolls all have hairy legs. Trolls are so poor that their clothes are raggedy.

Winter Days

Frosty days, warmth a desire,

hoping to be, snug by the fire.

Children playing in the snow,

icy fingers, frozen toes.

Hat and gloves, coat and scarves,

snowball fight, lots of laughs.

Snow is melting, fades away,

Spring is nearly on its way.

Visit from Lantern FM Monday 12th January

In conjunction with DDS Lantern Fm are visiting 5 local schools this week to promote healthy school lunches. The aim is to explain the value of school lunches and to promote the importance of having a meal at lunchtime.

PJ and James came to school and served children dinners before enjoying a school dinner themselves. Two plates were marked with a star at each sitting and the children who had these won prizes.
